Fire Safety Training
Every business is at risk of fire. This Fire Safety Training will introduce staff to all of the essential knowledge of Fire Safety in the workplace. The one day training covers topics such as physical & health hazards, the ‘fire triangle’, fire extinguishers and housekeeping.
This Course can be used to form part of a company’s due diligence when following The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for England and Wales, or The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. Fire Safety Training will equip your staff with the knowledge of how fires can occur in the workplace along with how to prevent them from starting.

The Training Course will include a 25 question multiple choice assessment.
Who should attend?
The Fire Safety Training should be completed by all members of staff for induction purposes and to satisfy the Fire Safety Regulations that will apply to your company. The course will benefit both the employer and employee by ensuring that they meet the requirements of Fire Safety Law.

Fire Safety Training is a legal requirement. If you are an employer, landlord or an occupier of a nondomestic building you are classed as the ‘responsible person’ for Fire Safety. As the ‘responsible person’ there are certain obligations you must fulfil that are outline in the Fire Safety Order. This course will cover these requirements for you.
Here are examples of your legal obligations under the Fire Safety Order:-
- Compile and regularly review the Fire Risk Assessment for the premises.
- Inform staff of any risks that you have found when carrying out the Fire Risk Assessment.
- Implement, review and maintain fire safety measures to wholly remove or reduce the risk of fire to those in the premises.
- Plan, and make your plans available for other, for an emergency.
- Adequately train staff in fire safety and provide necessary information as outlined above.
Among other legislation, for example The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, there are three main regulations and acts that cover fire safety in England, Wales and Scotland. These are the following:-
Fire safety law and regulations are outline in the The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for England and Wales.
However in Scotland, these requirements are highlighted in Part 3 of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 along with The Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
Finally, The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 requires employers to assess, reduce and if possible remove entirely the risk of fires or explosions for work activities that involve dangerous substances.
This training course can be tailored to include details of your company-specific materials and if desired previous company related case studies. In this case, our health and safety consultant will require details of your system and sample forms for inclusion prior to the course.
