Balmoral Tanks
Balmoral Tanks is a leading European tank design and manufacturing company.
A division of Balmoral Group Holdings Ltd the company produces what is believed to be the most comprehensive range of tank products available from a single source in the EU.
A successful family company which is expanding into new areas and locations, the organisation takes great care to keep its workforce informed of new opportunities and ventures.

Calsonic Kansei Llanelli
Calsonic Kansei Europe is a supplier of heat exchange, air conditioning, exhaust, interior, and electronic automotive components. Headquartered in the UK, with operations spread throughout Europe in Spain, Romania, Russia, France and Germany.
Calsonic Kansei Llanelli along with other plants embrace the CK way, an action guideline for each company employee to realise Corporate Vision. Focussing on 3 main categories – Individual, Task and Team, Calsoni Kansei consider these to be key elements to become a great company.
The organisation provides a good example of how to effectively communicate strategy and attainment based on measurement and management of key results, linked to strategic objectives.

Continental Automotive
Continental Automotive at Ebbw Vale manufacture hydraulic braking systems, duo servo parking brakes, and equipment spares which are used by car manufactures in the production of their vehicles. They are also used for spares, repairs and aftermarket sales.
Continental want to provide the best solutions for each of their customers in each of their markets.
Faced with ever increasing international competition, Continental Automotive Ebbw Vale, has focussed on customer service excellence and has developed niche product market combined with an innovative approach to deliver high customer satisfaction levels.

Elfed High School
Elfed High School, is an ‘Outstanding Learning Community’ where staff and students share a passion for excellent teaching and learning. It is a school where every single student is supported and challenged to succeed. A ‘growth mindset’ has been embedded in every aspect of school life, encouraging a ‘have a go’ ethos that removes fear of failure and turns ‘FAIL’ into ‘First Attempt In Learning’.
With a clear strategy and a strong focus on achieving measurable objectives, the school engages with stakeholders and pupils to deliver a comprehensive approach to education which extends beyond the school into the community and partner primary schools — the ‘supply chain’ and ‘customer base’. The school head is recognised by Welsh Government and others as an inspirational leader who shares well thought out strategies in professional and visual communications which are endorsed and promoted at every opportunity. She was awarded an OBE for services to education in 2016.

Northern Automotive NASUK
Northern Automotive Systems is a world leader in the manufacture and supply of decorative aluminium trim for the automotive industry. With a history dating back to 1908, they have mastered the art of transforming a concept into reality.
“Our ultimate focus is to produce innovative and unique decorative aluminium trim for the automotive industry.”
Northern Automotive entered the Wales Quality Award for the first time in 2014. With big changes in the business, they wanted to capture their current position to use as a measure for improvement in the future, and to ensure a focus on capturing good practice within existing arrangements. They scooped the Best Newcomer Prize, and are continuing to use the model to manage change.

NHS Wales -Shared Services – Procurement
Procurement Services is a Service Provider to the National Health Service in Wales, they host a number of divisions who work on behalf of NHS Wales.
Shared Services Procurement consistently seek to deliver the best and look to achieve this through:

Strong Leadership has enabled consistency of performance, through organisation and locational change. With a focus on continuous improvement and savings, the organisation has continued to achieve and exceed targets throughout.
They have maintained and improved service levels, whilst improving efficiency and achieving significant savings, whilst undergoing challenges and changes in geographical location and within a modernisation agenda.

NHS Wales – Shared Services Employment Services
NWSSP Employment Services provide a range of hire to retire processing services to Local Health Boards and Trusts across Wales. Services includes Recruitment, Payroll, Pensions, Staff Expense Payments and Lease Car administration.
These functions provide key transactional support to customers in realising their strategic workforce and patient care agendas. They are committed to working collaboratively with customers to consistently deliver the best service through the provision of teams with specialist knowledge, skills and experience.
Employment Services was formed from a variety of existing services from a variety of locations, with different processes. In a very short time, the service had mapped new processes using best practice from existing arrangement. They used the process to embed a single team culture within the organisation whilst at the same time improving process efficiency.
Employment Services uses the Business Excellence Model, as part of their journey to improvement to establish current position and to improve the organisation.
A good example of integrating workforce and creating an internal operating culture.
NWSSP Employment Services are winners of the Wales Quality Award category prize for Strategy.

Allied Aerosystems
Allied Aerosystems is a successful business with sustained growth over a number of years. With a clear vision of what was required to succeed, the CEO has successfully used the Business Excellence Model to both measure and drive improvement within the Company.
A young and dynamic organisation, Allied Aerosystems operates with a very flexible and inclusive workforce approach, and needed a model that was value adding, supporting their journey to excellence, without the requirement for prescriptive or bureaucratic restraints.
Since starting to use the, Business Excellence Model in 2006, the organisation has grown and improved, and maintained their ethos for excellence. By 2014 the organisation has improved their overall Business Excellence score differential by an impressive 260 points. The increase in scores is reflected in the organisations profitability and growth. In 2014 Allied Aerosystems was a Business Excellence winner.

Euro Quality Coatings Ltd
Euro Quality Coatings is one of the UK’s leading powder coating and electrophoretic companies, EQC use the highest quality application equipment, powders and pre-treatments, providing a professional powder coating and e-coat service for volume and batch manufacturers.
They have been using the Business Excellence Model since 2006 to support improvement innovation and growth, and have focused improvements on specific areas.
They have seen success in the Wales Quality Awards on a number of occasions, in 2007 they won the Manufacturing Prize, in 2008, the Environment Prize, in 2010 the Customer Service Prize, and in 2014 the partnership prize.

Schaeffler Llanelli
Under the direction of the Managing Director, Roger Evans, the company has clawed its way back from threat of closure to be one of the most successful of the Schaeffler plants.
At Schaeffler Llanelli the Model is used to drive the Business Improvement Programme, Schaeffler have been consistently high scorers for many years. They have won several prizes at the Wales Quality Awards over the years as they have continued to improve on their performance against the individual criteria within the Model;

The Moulding division of Brother Industries (UK) Ltd, (formerly known as GKK Plastics), was formed in 1990 delivering a precision injection moulding and assembly service to a blue chip client base.
Based on a 24,000 sq. metre site in Wrexham, North Wales with good transport links to all areas of the UK. Brother supply Plastic Mouldings to a diverse range of markets including Electronics, Medical, Agricultural and Construction industries and can provide a total manufacturing service from concept design to finished product.
As specialists in the moulding of technical components, they have extensive assembly experience in both high and low volume manufacturing. They have a continuous improvement philosophy to ensure they remain competitive and can offer the very best value to customers. They continue to use the Model today.
